When Democrats retake the Senate and the Presidency, I believe we must eliminate the filibuster. The legislative filibuster is a relic of the past, and Republicans have abused it for far too long.
The filibuster is stopping us from:
- Passing sweeping campaign finance and democracy reform.
- Codifying Roe v Wade to guarantee a right to abortion for all women.
- Delivering historic solutions to the affordability crisis by implementing policies that create universal access to healthcare, childcare, and affordable housing.
- Enacting commonsense gun safety legislation.
To restore trust in our democracy, the American people need to believe that it can solve the most important problems facing our families, states, and country. To achieve this, we must abolish the filibuster.
