Not every good job needs a four-year college degree. Maine needs more carpenters, electricians, plumbers, welders, health care workers, and clean-energy builders. Trade schools and apprenticeships give people the chance to learn real skills, earn a paycheck, and build a future.
I’ll fight to:
- Invest in trade schools. Increase federal funding for technical and vocational programs so students can train for high-demand careers without taking on debt.
- Expand apprenticeships. Create more federally supported apprenticeship programs so that people can earn while they learn and develop real skills and a paycheck at the same time.
