BRISTOL – Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Jordan Wood released the following statement in response to recent coverage that Governor Mills opposes eliminating the filibuster: 

“Governor Mills appears to think we’re still playing by the old rules. Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress are ignoring the Constitution and breaking all political norms, so the idea that Mills thinks the filibuster is anything but an impediment to progress is extremely worrisome. 

“It’s time to abolish the filibuster. Mills’ position is wildly out of step with where most Democratic voters in Maine are today. That’s why this primary is so important – voters should decide who has the courage to stand up and deliver real change.”
